Modes of Transport

The modes of carriage at the loading and unloading ports determined by the shipowner may vary as stated below.
1)LINER IN/LINER OUT (LINER TERMS):The costs of loading the containers on board at the port of loading and unloading at the port of destination are included in the freight. In other words, they are borne by the shipowner.
2)LINER IN/FREE OUT (LI/FO):The loading of the containers at the port of loading is included in the freight and the unloading costs at the port of destination are paid by the buyer.
3)FREE IN/LINER OUT (FI/LO):The loading of the container onto the ship at the port of loading is not included in the freight and is paid by the shipper, but the unloading costs at the port of destination are included in the freight.
4)FREE IN/FREE OUT (FIOS):The seller shall bear the costs of loading the container onto the ship at the port of loading and the buyer shall bear the costs of unloading the container at the port of destination.
TYPES OF TRANSPORT
Container transport that can provide combined shipment can be of the following types.
1)PIER/PIER:Port to Port,
2)DOOR/PIER:From Loader Depot to Port of Destination,
3)PIER/DOOR:From the Loading Port to the Receiving Warehouse,
4)DOOR/DOOR ,Loader Warehouse to Receiver Warehouse,
CONTAINER LOADING TERMS
The loading of the container is varied according to the number of loaders and receivers as follows;
1)FCL/FCL (FULL CONTAINER LOAD)
:The dispatch of an entire container by a loader to a consignee.
2)FCL/LCL (FULL CONTAINER LOAD / LESS THAN A CONTAINER LOAD)
:The loading of goods by one shipper to more than one consignee.
3)LCL/FCL (LESS THAN A CONTAINER LOAD/ FULL CONTAINER LOAD):It is the loading of goods by more than one loader in the same container to a single consignee.
4)LCL/LCL (LESS THAN A CONTAINER LOAD/ LESS THAN A CONTAINER LOAD)
:It is shipped by more than one shipper to more than one consignee.
